If i had to guess, i'd say you have at least one of your email clients set up to access gmail using pop3. I just got the note 9 and am trying to use the stock email app instead of gmail but can't figure out how to get an email out of my inbox without deleting it. The 'archive' folder is simply the gmail all mail folder.

Oddly, i can't find simply archive or a way to move it to a main all mail folder. On the gmail app on android, you just need to swipe left or right on an email to access the options and then tap on the ‘archive’ option. Once selected, tap on the archive icon at the top.

In the imap folder list, archive is all mail (basically mail that has no other label like inbox or anything else). To access your outlook email archive, open the archive folder located in the left pane. Find or move messages you archived.
